For those not familiar with Death Cab their sounds are reminiscent of R.E.M. and the Pixies. They could be defined by their melodic guitar, distinguished vocals of lead singer and band founder Benjamin Gibbard as well as for their heartfelt, intelligent lyrics. Lyrically they highlight the human soul when it comes to the reality of relationships; the assurance, confusion, ultimate high and face scraping lows.
And now is as good of time as any to get acquainted with Death Cab for Cutie. On the heels of Narrow Stairs they are keeping the momentum rolling by releasing a new EP, Open Door.
